1. The Louisiana Project: A Documentary about the BP …
1 year ago
MLK once said, 'An Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere'. The Louisiana Project is a short documentary which captures the experience of the Louisiana people who have been shaken by the aftermath of the explosion and sinking of the Deepwater Horizon on April 20. Cutting and heartbreaking, it explores the emotional impact of a mistake facilitated through an unsustainable lifestyle. Through the investigation of the dependent relationship between humans and their surrounding environment, it aims to question whether we are moving in the right direction into the future. The film was shot by two high schools seniors from Colorado in mid to late May 2010.

Jared. I work with Don Mizock at Mueller Charter School in Chula Vista... he shared this video with me. My wife and I were down in New Orleans working with Habitat while you were there. I wanted you to know I saw this video and it is soooooooo powerful. What a tremendous accomplishment for a senior project. It made me angrier than I already was. It moved me to tears. It moved me to action. What more could a documentary film maker ask for. Extraordinary work!!! I am sharing it with others.

Jared -- I've been making disaster documentaries since 1989, and can assure you that Pete would be very proud. Outstanding work.
