Supermarket is a part of a larger series exploring acts of private, embarrassing, and awkward moments in a public space. The initial idea was to investigate social etiquette and the acceptability or disapproval of certain actions performed in the public. My starting point were fairly normal acts of intimacy but progressed to a more absurd perspective. Each action was approached in a performative manner where the people involved were asked to hold their position for at least ten seconds in the space, capturing an awkward and even uncomfortable situation where these fleeting acts became more permanent and visible to the surrounding public and environment.
