I can't quite put my finger on why, but you have a an eye and an ear for what is fine and simple in the American spirit, John. I get a little teary over some of these little things you put up.

Ray, with your exhibited passions for art and life, and your openness and sincerity, your comment means so much more to me than most. I can't put my finger on my work either as none of it is scripted. I prefer taking video of life as it happens... followed by putting clips together in meaningful, enjoyable and fun ways.

Your stories strike many chords and inspire me to do more. Keep them coming.

I would have missed this comment, John, if I hadn't been trolling, and that would have been a shame. (Are you picking up my bad habits and pushing the wrong button, the one that misses my INBOX?) Maybe guys like us of a certain age don't have time anymore for baloney. It's true, though, that I picked up on the kind of man you were way back in our early PhotoStory Forum meeting, and that meant something to me. I haven't the slightest doubt that we'll continue to have a lot more to say to each other.

Yes, in the middle of more posts and emails than I could read in a lifetime, I do have some bad habits. Hopefully they help me stay focused and don't offend those I care about.

RATIONALE FOR INCLUSION IN THE PHOTOSTORY SHOWROOM

PapaJohn does many things right with PhotoStory and with his bottomless box of tools, not the least of which is his generous sharing of what he knows, and that’s a helluva lot--generous is a word that defines him. It is inconceivable to think of PhotoStory and not think of him. It’s not easy, though, to choose one of his videos to represent him—most of the time they are solutions to little challenges he sets for himself or the means to share one of the many tricks he’s learned. He’s not one to go for the grand gesture. But when I try to think back over the many clips he’s posted—I’ve watched pretty much all of them—what sticks in my mind is how this one shows what I value most in him, his ability to capture, without trying—and it’s something you can’t try to do—to capture what is fine and simple in the American spirit.

I appreciate the thought Ray but I don't think this piece qualifies. It's a Movie Maker production made without PhotoStory 3, and isn't in PhotoStoryMagic, a prerequisite for being selected. I'll uncheck it on those technicalities.

You know, John, I got so carried away again with watching what was happening in this video that I simply didn't notice that the pictures were moving!

That's a great line Ray.... flip it over and it describes what the users of Photo Story 3 are striving for. Thanks again.

And that's a keen observation, John!
