How can you build relationships with East Asians when cultural differences create obstacles? In Thailand they are using football to bridge these cultural divides while also forging strong partnerships with local Thai churches. What other opportunities exist for similar or new creative ministries in East Asia?

How about joining an international Sattha Soccer team in Thailand - soccermissions.com ?

UPDATE Nov 2010. Surathan Inchuran (known to his friends as James) who appears in this video was murdered recently. His attacker was caught and is now in prison. Although this news it is extremely tragic we would ask viewers to find comfort in the fact that James will spend eternity with our Lord. We would also ask them to contemplate their personal response to the Great Commission. Where would James be now if believers hadn't taken the Gospel to his nation?

Pray for James, the new believer interviewed in this video. I haven't seen him around at church in recent months and am not sure what's happening.

Great piece with some vivid and different images that make the point of the diverse kinds of ways to reach out to people. May God bring us many more creative and talentedpeople for His Kingdom.

Update on James: Pastor Jareun says that James has chosen to work Sundays, which is the reason why he has not been around for Sunday worship. The world's pull to work and study on the Sabbath is very strong in Thailand, so we need to pray that the longing for Christian fellowship and the Word of God would be so strong in us (whether in Thailand, Europe, America, or wherever) that we would find ways to meet God's people regularly and hear His Word.

In other football related news, Pastor Jareun is continuing on with football ministry and we recently used a short-term team to build contacts with a local primary school, and Jaruen brought a whole pick-up truck full of those kids to church for football, English, games, songs, and more direct Gospel sharing. Great time of having fun with the kids and exposing them to the church and the Gospel.
