For the live performance of Shade Compositions (Location One) four black females perform a choreographed action piece. All of the actions in the piece are derived from the finger snapping, head swiveling, and sassy vocalizations often associated with women of color. Utilizing a hacked Nintendo Wii game controller a music and video composition is achieved in real-time by, recording, looping, composing and editing both audio and video simultaneously to the action of the performers
