I took apart a handlebar mounted reflector and modified it to make a camcorder mount. The only parts I needed were a 2" 1/4-20 machine bolt, 2 nuts, a wing nut, a lock washer and a flat washer. I took it on a test run on a bike path through Camp Richardson to the historic Tallac estate in Lake Tahoe. The path is pretty cracked with lots of bumps from the pine tree roots which really shook up my camcorder. I'm not sure what I can do to absorb the shock of the bumps and I'm open for suggestions. Here's the video of that first test run. The camera I used was the Canon FS100 since it's the smallest and lightest camcorder I have .... perfect for a bike mounted camcorder. I'll try my Canon HV20 when I figure out how to stabilize the camcorder a little better.
