Music remixed by Scanner (UK)
Video by Olga Mink

Seville Fade was made for a soundtrack by London based musician Scanner. It was made with mobile phone recordings in the south of Spain. The imagery enhances a sense of voyeurism in a subtropical environment. A feeling of being abandoned, yet so close to someone, somewhere. It is about finding a connection, between that what surrounds us, but even more about the connection of the innerself.

Released on Strings of Counsciousness : Fantomastique Acoustica (CD - Off Rds)
It offers 4 instrumental compositions + their remixes by:
Rothko (UK - BiP_HOp/Trace/Bella Union/Lo)
Mira Calix (UK - Warp)
Kammerflimmer Kollektief (DE - Staubgold)
Gamial Trio (BE - Off)
Leafcutter John (UK - Staubgold/Planet Mu)
Scanner (UK - Bette/Sub Rosa...)
Marsen Jules (DE - Central Control Offices)
Sutekh (US - Context/Leaf/Soul Jazz/Mille Plateaux)
Si-cut.db (UK - BiP_HOp/Sprawl)

I can hardly believe that this was shot with a mobile phone. This is true art.

Cheers. It was later important in fcp. scaled, edited, and some channel blurs and colourtreatment was added to it. It has such a different quality bec. of that!

Your color treatement is really beautifull Olga. The mobile phone might well be the new super 8 camera, surely the way you treat it ! A petty I didn't see your performance at Mapping.

Thanks for your comments, Jesse! Yeah the new 8mm indeed. we only miss the projector...;-) Maybe next phone can do both...hmmm..dream on! Shame indeed we missed each other on MApping. Hopefully some other time!

maybe you could make it a loop? And then endless could become eternity.

Personally, I like the restriction of time though.
Who needs the endlessness of eternity anyway?;-)

I finally found something to complain about. There is something wrong with the title. You shouldn't use the word "Fade" in the title. It doesn't.

ah.. finally someone's at least complaining here..;-)!
the piece of music was called Seville Fade. It was released with scanner's music on a cd-release.
