At 7:30am on June 28, 2008, the old smokestack at Xcel Energy's High Bridge Power Plant was imploded using more than 200 lbs of explosives.
The impact created a huge plume of smoke and debris that were picked up by the easterly wind and carried onto the crowd watching from the Smith Avenue High Bridge.
