Marathon Men are two French producers and Dj's by the name of Freddy McQuinn and Simbad. Based out of a hand made studio in East London, the two started their own label Key recordings in 2000. Having dj'ed at countless gigs shared with Norman Jay, Groove Armada, Bugz In The Attic, Gilles Peterson etc, as well as having played various festivals, clubs and parties around the world, Fred & Simbad have been running their night on the 3rd Sat of every month called "JE NE SAIS QUOI " for nearly 6 years, being the most successful party at the Vibe Bar on Brick Lane.

Their music productions span from ruff dancehall hip-hop to deep electronic dancefloor stormers via soulful afrobeat & house. They also record under the monikers Twitch, Heal and Les Barons (Simbad also records as Loose Ensemble and Mowgly plus various other collabs...). Having played, worked and recorded with various artists they have recently released their smashing debut album on Chilli Funk Records under the name Marathon Men. Musical influences range from 70's funk and jazz to dance hall, house and garage. As they say: 'We dig anything from oldskoool to nuskool, any tune that has soul, tells a story or rocks the dancefloor'. The pair have worked with many, including such legends as Tony Allen, Mocky, Chili Gonzales, Z Star, Marque Gilmore, Talvin Singh, Jimpster, Bugz in the Attic, etc. and have released music on Loungin' Records, Diaspora, Freerange , Foundation and various others...
