In a special exhibition on view at The Phillips Collection in Washington, D.C. through September 12, 2010, enjoy rarely shown small-scale, white-on-white paintings made over the last 50 years by this celebrated artist, who focuses on the most basic components of painting. Ryman says, "I don't abstract from anything...I am involved with real space...real light, and real surface."
