this a time-lapse of an art project called "commune" by the Chinese artist Yin Xiuzhen. "commune" should be understood in terms of Joseph Beuys' concept of a social sculpture. It took place between 29.03.2008 - 04.05.2008 in Chemnitz. It involved two dozen unemployed sewing workers who create their own 'factory' out of clothes from donations. In the process of making the 'factory' itself will vanish, whereas the sculpture will remain as the final installation.
