In Deconstructing the Reconstructed, Elizabeth Lee tracks the events surrounding a single archaeological discovery. The short film is centered on the plaster skull found in the 2004 field season of Çatalhöyük, Turkey, but the themes discussed in the film extend beyond the single event and into the broader areas of anthropology and documentation. Videos and images from the field blend with interviews to reveal the process that is archaeology in an attempt to better understand the products it creates.

Elizabeth Lee is Manager of Documentation Projects at Cyark.
