CORPORATE SUPPORTER AWARD
Winner – sanofi-aventis / Bristol Myers Squibb
sanofi-aventis / Bristol Myers Squibb have been supporting The Stroke Association for a number of years. In this time they have demonstrated a strong commitment to the improvement of education and awareness, for both those who have been affected by stroke and the healthcare professionals who come into contact with them at each stage of the care pathway.
sanofi-aventis / Bristol Myers Squibb have supported the UK Stroke Forum, the only multidisciplinary professional conference of its kind worldwide, as principal sponsor for two years in a row. They have enabled The Stroke Association to reach a wider audience of healthcare professionals and key opinion leaders by inviting us to exhibit and participate in educational symposia. This year their staff took part in some innovative fundraising during May to mark European Stroke Awareness Day.
The Corporate Supporter Award recognises the valuable support of sanofi-aventis / Bristol Myers Squibb and its employees so far, and represents the continued plans to work in partnership at this crucial time of opportunity for stroke.
TRUST SUPPORTER AWARD
Winner – The Philip and Pauline Harris Charitable Trust
The Stroke Association is delighted to formally recognise the financial and advisory support of Dame Pauline Harris at this year’s Life After Stroke Awards. Lord and Lady Harris have been instrumental in launching the Major Donor programme for The Stroke Association, personally hosting royal guests, together with some of the UK’s most well respected philanthropists, and, in doing so, raising over £500,000 last year alone.
The Trust has also further supported our auction programme, and we look to the future board membership for our forthcoming £10 million Major Appeal.
In July 2007, The Stroke Association launched its first national multimedia advertising campaign – Leading the Fight Against Brain Attacks. In presenting the Trust Supporter Award to The Philip and Pauline Harris Charitable Trust, The Stroke Association recognises the vital contribution made to this campaign by Lord and Lady Harris.
