Excellent work, Michael. i recently got a GH1 and am interested in exploring what it can do.

What editing program did you use for this video? It says CS5 -- did you use Adobe Premiere? Was your video in AVCHD format? If so, did you convert it before editing?

    Again, nice job!

By the way, check out my nephew-in-law's time-lapse video with a Canon DSLRs: vimeo.com/9088010

Thanks Cameraz... Adobe Premiere CS5. I used QT Pro to compile the jpeg images into video, threw it in CS5 and hacked away.

Oh man, what a dummy I am. I forgot that this was a time-lapse. You took stills and compiled them into a video. So you wouldn't be using AVCHD!

I'd love to do this sort of thing, but I heard it does a lot of wear and tear on your camera's shutter. I mean, you must've taken 50,000 to 100,000 frames to get this video. Maybe more?

oh no.. not anywhere near 50k... more like 4-5k. 15secs takes about 350-400 images at 1 sec intervals...

    Very nice.
What ISO and aperture settings have you used for these shots? Have you adjusted the 12Mpix resolution of your stills to 1280x720?
    Thanks

Thanks Kostas, I didn't keep accurate records of the settings but I seem to recall most were shot at 400 ISO @5.6. The jpegs were shot at 1080 but I converted them to video at 720 only because I didn't want the huge file of 1080 since the image quality didn't degrade noticeably.

First of all - fantastic video 20mm pancake is great for such pictures. I tried small software created by Stephan van der Palen called TimeLapse.exe (only 105K) very simple but perfect in creation timelapes.
