August 31, 2006 - Scenes from the White Procession walk to the Temple at the 2006 Burning Man Festival. For those of us at the festival that year, the Thursday morning walk into the sunrise was both magical and surreal. The collective white attire against the magnificently flat Playa amplified what felt like a very ghostly atmosphere.
Citizen Cope played on heavy rotation in my camp, Monkey Puzzle. I chose to use Clarence Greenwood's track, "Sideways", as it seemed to have the melodic and rhythmic elements that would best compliment the pictures and the spirit of the moment.
Consider donating to support festival projects like the Temple. While partially funded by the Black Rock Arts Foundation, these critical structures typically cost more than what's penciled out on paper. One of my favorite projects for 2010 is the Aeolian Pyrophonic Hall and Whispering Wall, or simply the Portal.
