This was the first test , next time will be better.
I've given a lot of thought to trying to build something like this for myself. I can't quite get past the price point of all the existing ones. It just doesn't seem complicated enough to be priced so high, but because it's a specialized tool used for creative enthusiasts and professionals, it's in that luxury range.
I'm not saying some thin aluminum knockoff from a Wal-Mart wouldn't be likely to fall apart in your hand and crack your camera on the ground like a coconut, but I'd like to see a good unit get priced in the $150-$200 range.
I don't mean to soapbox here, but I want one of these and don't want to spend as much or more than the camera itself for it. I hope yours serves you well (for that price, it should serve you breakfast in bed!)
Of course, I can't order it yet because the computers at work can't seem to access the order site, so I emailed the link to my home address.
Do you remember how long it took to receive?
Around every corner is another headache sometimes.
Have you had more time to practice with yours? Getting more used to it?
Five days after the order (including a weekend).
Not bad.
