this was actually the hardest part because nearly noone I know in berlin drives a car (2 out of 100) and therefore has no device.
I got some from tomtom , from a rental company and some mates in other cities where having a car is more "normal" :-)
I've just posted it in my blog.

one reason is, that many of the navs were old ones and they just had one voice installed.
apparently it also was basically the same voice on different "brands" (except the big companies).
the question of why there is this heavy use of female voices in all navs has to be asked to the manufactures.
I think as "traditionally, mostly men are still at the steering wheel when travelling, they find a female voice more appealing, comforting and calmer.
I'd love that installation to have more different voices, but would have sticked with just female and male as I would find it very disturbing (and too funny) when darth vader ( a voice set of tomtom) would also give his commands ;-)
i guess the device are not only from Tomtom, but also Garmin, Eonon , and some others?
of course I dont mind that you share it :-)
its a variety of some tomtoms, not that many garmins, but also a huge load of a OEM-brand which name I forgot ( and never heard of it before). they came with the rental service as I did not manage to collect that much devices of friends and friends of friends as barely noone I know in berlin has a car.

As there are about 30 destinations, but mostly just 4 ways to move on a street, they very often suggest the same way which leads to the impression they are all set at the same point..
