MTV Engine Room Audition Video: First Render
3 months ago
More
This is my audition video for the MTV Engine Room competition. With only a week's notice, I quickly put together some footage and VFX. Due to time constraints, I had to cut out 2 minutes worth of footage and much VFX shots uncompleted.
My patience was really tested with my Dell Pentium 4 Processor desktop (5 years old). The rendering time frame was absurd! The first third of the video took three hours to render in After Effects (output to a 1280 X 720 quality). This was my second time using 3Ds Max, so my work flow was twice as long due to the two-day learning curve (hence the reason why much of the video was not completed). So the animation is really mediocre, but I will improve! :)
This video isn't true HD because it was originally meant for YouTube. I will upload the more polished (plus HD formatted) final footage (including additional footage, SFX, and VFX) sometime in August [2008]...those are a lot of parenthesis, haha!

[still in the works, but it has a funky splash page!]
