At USD 400,- it's not cheap.
Sony Vegas users could also try the free (old) version:
download.sonymediasoftware.com/current/extras/vegasmovielooks_hd.exe (right click and choose 'save destination as').
Am I right in thinking you were using your Merlin rather than a tripod?
To save time (and not fall behind) I set up my tripod as a monopod by only extending one leg.
This is the 'Blockbuster' look (with the vignette removed in a few shots).
I'm doing this as a hobby because I like the creative process. I never thought of doing any kind of directing. I think I'm way to shy a person to get into that :) I prefer nature footage :D
This looks awesome, and those redwoods sent tingles down my spine!!! What a beautiful place to spend some time and play with your new toy.
Some of the shots in this though did seem a little over saturated and the blacks crushed a bit too heavy for me, but in places this really works well such as the mud flats scene - it made it look sureal :) Great footage and nicely edited, looking forward to more of your work...
I realize the look might be a bit heavier than usual but I like to play around with software, so things are not necessarily graded to fit the content but rather to fit my mood at the time of editing :)
It's not every day I spent USD 400,- on software, so be prepared for some experimentation. :)
Nice shots man!
