quick question. what do you use to record audio? I have a 5D and I've used the 7D and their on camera mics aren't the greatest.

also, all of your videos are amazing/inspiring!
  • Thanks Asher! For on camera mics, we use the Sennheiser MKE 400. For an external recorder, if we want to hook up to a sound system, or to a better boom mic, etc... we use the Zoom H4N.

You guys rocked this shoot. We loved the tracks, they fit perfect! The use of natural audio during the preps added so much. Your style of film creation fit the couple spot on, keep that style its unique. Kudos!
  • Thanks!

Incredible. I watch on average about 20 different wedding videos every week (as I do this for a living also), and this is by far the best wedding video I have ever seen. A lot of these companies out there have great equipment and shots, but lack a certain touch in editing. Your however was perfectly edited.

    Very well done!
  • Thanks!

  • what lens give you the deep depth of field?
  • The really fast lenses opened up all the way at like 1.2, 1.4, 1.8 or 2.8 get that type of look. Also zooming in with a telephoto can achieve that look.
  • I would imagine that would make a really shallow depth of field. im talking like everything in field of view in focus.
  • Just stop the lens down instead of opening up the iris, or set the lens to infinity focus and get a little wider. The Canon 14mm is a great lens if you want a lot of things to be in focus, its pretty wide though unless you are on like a 7d or t2i. Watch this video on lenses from Stillmotion.

This is the best wedding video ever. I love the way it was edited to capture the humor in the beginning and then directly cut to the pure emotion. It almost had a 3 act structure to it! I like the glidecam ghost man at 6:22 haha.
  • Ha, yes that's my cameo... ;) Thanks a lot!
