Undoubtedly, all will cease after the deep silence.
Only will remain thy daughters, through the internal voices within them. We will drown those voices, and in the absence abruptly we will remind them theirs. And then, they will cease along.

Harika bir görsellik, harika bir öykü... Türkiye'de pek alışık olmadığımız kalitede bir film olmuş. Elinize, emeğinize sağlık.

This is incredible. This is the most interesting mise'en scene I have seen on Vimeo so far. Each and every object has a unique quality about it. All very organic, yet surreal. Beautifully executed.

This is really gorgeous, Can. You should think about submitting this to the Vimeo Awards - vimeo.com/awards

It is unusual to see that kind of production in vimeo, productions that think the cinematic language and not as the production of audiovisual effects. I really enjoyed your work, time plans and delicacy of events in the scenes that are thought as long and not as sequences of actions. The cinema needs to be thought of as art and you made the effort to think of it as such. congratulations.

There is a movie I made that is posted on vimeo. He reminded me a lot of this work

It was not me who posted, but I have a user vimeo (vimeo.com/user2311491) with some of my experiments long ago.

3:04 - 3:12 was seriously one of the most unsettling moments I have ever experienced.

    Great job.

Hey Can, it's really cool visuality, well done! Your movie shows the endless capability of Canon 5d mark ii. In Vimeo, this kind of visual treats are really appreciated. You know, people just like it, because it's 2010! But i don't get why you want to tell "my movie is steampunk" It seems you decided to do some steampunk stuff at the beginning and tried to arrange everything so "jules verne, hidenburg, old times style" artifically. Steampunkness range of the movie hides the plot, people just care visuality and silence, just watch 15 minutes pointless art... Please help us, we don't get it!

I agree with pao. Except that I do not wish to like this. I mean - just because you have a nice cinematography and mise-en-scene it doesnt mean you have a good movie.
I found this boring and I am surprised that this is on Vimeo staff list

This was awesome! The cinematography works so well! Very disturbing to watch but enjoyable too. Who did the music too it? I'm going to review it (in my own uneducated style) for a zine collective I am part of in the UK, would be nice to credit the musicians too.

Although I love the color; love the mise en scéne; love the ambient sound design (exceptional attention to some details), and love the Chess shot, I did not love—or even like— this piece.

Firstly, I would not call this "steampunk" as there was hardly the art direction to merit a legitimate steampunk credit.
Secondly, I would not call this a "short film". I would argue that a short film entails a story, and a story demands change....specifically in the character (of which there was zero).

Neat video, but far less of a short film than an experimental piece.

Although I won't claim "i got it". This clearly has a begining middle and end. The character as the text exclaims does change. In the end she finds her "voice".

I would say the proof for me that this is well done - is the fact I watched it from start to finish.

I would say that the whole "steampunk" claim actually breaks the movie and misleads the viewer - which in turn actually disrupted me a bit because i was "searching" for the steampunk which was litle more than a vest and a silly hat.

I would also argue this is more along the lines of "retro-futurism"

All that being said. It was a well done film.

this was beautiful. i felt a deep connection to it. the moments with complete silence in fact seemed to have the loudest sounds, blasting through my ear drums. the feeling of doubt, sadness, and yet bliss rung through seamlessly.
