Psilocybe semilanceata are a psychotropic funghi which grow naturally and profusely in the fields and uplands of Britain.

Although in a prepared form, they were classified in the UK as a class A drug, it was still permiited, until a change in the law in 2005, to collect (and consume) these so called "Magic Mushrooms".

Now however, with the closure of a legal loophole, even picking them is a criminal offence.

This short film takes to the fields to get up close and personal with the offending fungi and discusses its dangers, its delights and its place in the wider debate about drugs and drug policy.
