Maxi, the third and final monarch caterpillar, is just about doubling his size every day. I hope he'll be ready to form a chrysalis before I have to take the whole habitat back to my son's day camp on Monday.

When he's full-size he can eat up to four milkweed leaves the same size as the one in this video each day. With all that eating there ends up being quite a lot of excrement. When he pauses from eating, he's usually digesting. Not long after, out comes a little pellet. Watch for it.
