Will this work on the T2i with the battery grip?
  • Jason Hernandez plus 1 year ago
No, not with any extra battery grip, sorry if we were to have made compatible with that, then it'd get much taller, at least a few inches. Kinda throwing things off.

  • Jon Menefee 1 year ago
Amazing Jason! The top and bottom screws, the counter balance... so smart. I've been shooting skating for 7 years on a VX2000 and just switched to a T2i, so obviously making the camera feel like a video camera is the biggest challenge. I went to eazydolly dot com and didn't see the rig - where can I buy? Also, shout out to Ray! Nice run!
  • Jason Hernandez plus 1 year ago
All the info is above now, just email the email above
    Thanks for the support.

great work , i need one for my 550D
    how much ????
  • Jason Hernandez plus 1 year ago
Just look above and follow the email, sorry this isn't my area, I just film, and help my parents with the things i feel Filmers will want/need. It's a family run business, my mom runs the books, shipping, etc... and my dad makes them.

    Awesome stuff Jason!
  •
  • Patrick Jacobson 1 year ago
Superb idea. Will you make one for larger cameras like Nikon D3s?
  • Jason Hernandez plus 1 year ago
I can't say for sure, but I've talked with my dad from the get go about a taller camera ie: 1d mark4, d3s, etc...
It's as simple as getting larger spindles to pick the handle up higher. But I cant' say 100% yet, I hope.

  • Vlad Kazakov 1 year ago
I'm going to buy it. I live in Russia. Will you mom ship it to Russia? Does it fit to 7d ?
p.s. what fisheye would you recomend for 7d?
opteka 6.5mm or vivtar 7mm or rokinon 8mm

    thanks...
  • Mike Kremel 1 year ago
Yes it will fit the 7D.
  • Jason Hernandez plus 1 year ago
I don't see why my parents can't ship to Russia, but you need to email them, you and Dmitriy.
    Thanks for supporting.
    Jason
  • Vlad Kazakov 1 year ago
I've already emailed them. They do ship to Russia. But the price is incredibly high.

My memory is horrible, but if you watch the video I show the measurement of a 5d, and a t2i, what ever the camera is as long as it's in between those sizes it should fit. Canon or Nikon, this is all we tested.

Do you ever film long lens with a dslr? I am interested in moving into HD and getting a dslr as my only camera. The only thing I fear is that long lens capabilities are limited due to the fact that using zoom on a zoom lens on a dslr is hard and unreasonable (or so I've heard).
  • Jason Hernandez plus 1 year ago
Sometimes you'll have issues with the rolling shutter, but most the time it looks fairly good, of course your gonna need a good tripod. I've been zooming with a ring, and not the toggles since day one. I always hated the toggles, so if your use to zooming with say a vx2000/2100, HVX, HPX, Canon. Then using a DSLR shouldn't feel to crazy.
  • Brendon Anderson 1 year ago
What zoom lens do you use? An you just use the actual zoom ring on the lens?
  •
  • Matthew Pew 1 year ago
I am going to get one! what fisheye are you using?
  • Jason Hernandez plus 1 year ago
Id recommend the Tokina 10-17mm or Vivatar 7mm
  • Vlad Kazakov 1 year ago
    Why vivitar?
Do you know any pros and cons of this lens?

What's the difference between opteka 6.5mm and rokinon 8mm ?
  •
  • Sergio Minnici plus 1 year ago
    perfect handle to film lines!
    great jason
  •
  • Martin Reigel 1 year ago
what lenses are you using for the shots of the handle?
  • Vlad Kazakov 1 year ago
    canon 15mm fisheye with 5dm2
and tokina 10-17 fisheye with t2i
  • Martin Reigel 1 year ago
Not the skating. The shots of the handle by itself.
  •
  • Sean Lucey 1 year ago
Definitely going to buy one. Anyone have any thoughts on the Opteka 6.5mm lens?

    What's up Jason.

Handle looks good. Do you have the weight specs. to hand? Also does the whole thing break down to fit in a bag?

I also noticed you switched up the mic in the video. Have you changed from the Sennheiser?
  •
  • Anthony Claravall 1 year ago
Just filmed w/ it for the first time today. There are a lot of things you need to get used to if you are switching from a VX1000 to a DSLR, but thanks to this handle filming lines is not one of them. Great design and execution.
  • Jason Hernandez plus 1 year ago
YES your right, trust me anyone who's reading this making the switch from HVX/HPX going to a DSLR is a weird switch, but the handle helps. If your going VX to DSLR, it's an insane switch Im sure.
  •
  • Colby Bingaman 1 year ago
    Just ordered mine.

Oh and which mic do you use?
  • Jason Hernandez plus 1 year ago
    YES good to hear!
I use to use a sennheiser mke400 now Im using a Audio Technica, if your using a 7d any of these mic's will be good with "Magic Lantern"
  •

how is this thing on image stabilization? Im between a handful of gadgets that will help keep from shakey images and also managable if im on the move too. Seems smooth when on a skateboard (or any rolling object), but what about when walking/running?
  • Jason Hernandez plus 1 year ago
Yeah it's not for stabilizing, I think it helps make the camera a little more stable, but it's mainly a handle first/rig, because you can build off of it.
    Hope this helps.

still working on figuring out how i would attach the external monitor on the top of the handle. i see the top thread where the bracket was attached .. so im guessing i would have to find a monitor support bracket that screws in ..

any ideas as to mounting it directly on top ?
  • Jon Shapiro 7 months ago
.. bracket that has a shoe mount , then run hdmi from cam to monitor ?
