Ok first of all... just want to make things straight, I only did the timing with the music with each picture. Estefi did everything else to organizing the pictures, scanning pictures, choosing the music and so on. So I did very "little" on this video. hahaha

Last year 2007, a week before the Quinceañera, Estefi was working on a video for her sister Naty. It was her first time making a video so I decided to help her out (actually she ended up asking for my help hahhaha... damn I should of charged her :D i'm just playing). It was going to be a surprise but the computer was near the kitchen so it was pretty hard to make sure Naty wasn't watching. Since Estefi wanted to make a picture video starting when she was a baby til present day, it was going to be a long video and I knew it was going to cause Estefi showed me all the pictures she wanted to use and it was so many pictures! At first Estefi was just making it into a normal slideshow with just random effects and music in the background. Then she asked me to help her sync the music with one song with the pictures, and after we were done with that, Estefi gave me a funny look and I knew she was trying to tell me something!!! So we ended up doing the rest of the video like that... hahahahaha it's ok I didn't mind. So as we worked on the video (and matching the beat to the music to the pictures), we ended up using 5 songs!!! (that Estefi chose... yeahhhh like I listen to Hilary Duff) I'll remember those long nights we spent working on it Estefi. All those times the program would crash and freeze up, to singing to the beginning part of a song over and over at 2:45 "yeahhh mama", to the nights you would start to fall asleep hahahaha!

Anyway on the day of Naty's Quinceañera, I was in setting up everything from setting up the audio, the projector, putting up the "screen" (aka a white blanket) and playing the video. It was funny cause when I was asked to play the video, everything went wrong! hahahaha. First of all I didn't have long RCA audio cables to reach the stereo system they had cause I wouldn't want to play the video with the laptop speakers. So i had to get my friend, Casie's boyfriend, to get me some long RCA cables. Second, for some reason, the laptops I was using kept messing up and every time I clicked play the laptop would freeze up! So I was getting kinda pissed :( but finally we came up with a solution to just play it off a dvd player. After an hour later with almost 30 people in one room... we finally got it to play. I kinda felt bad cause I made everyone wait so long. But in the end, everyone was clapping and Naty's relatives were coming and telling me "muy excellente!" (if that's how you spell it).

Honestly my favorite part when I "helped" make this video was at 8:08 cause the video really matched the music so well... plus it was fun taking some random video of Naty acting goofy that one night. Everyone else actually liked that part too and right when it went back to pictures again everyone was like "awwwww" hahaha I guess it's because it was actual video rather than pictures.

After the party, I wanted to get a copy of it and upload it on my youtube account. Unfortunately the computer we used at Estefi and Naty's house had a virus and wiped out the hard drive clean. How lucky were we that the virus hit the computer AFTER we finished... WHEW! Good thing we created the video into a DVD but it wasn't easy taking the video out of the DVD. So here it is after almost a year... on vimeo.

It's a good thing Naty liked it... YOU BETTER!

Well it was a lot of fun working on it.
(but its ok Estefi did all the work that's why her name is bigger than mine hahaha)
