your best one yet, and a good choice for the sound track! Well done bud :)

Thanks boss, but to get reasonable FLASH playback on vimeo I'm having to deinterlace and upscale to 1280x720 from large DV-AVI 720x576 Pinnacle captured/edited files with Windows Media Encoder. It would be much better if vimeo could offer 25 fps 948x480 ~1000 kbps "HQ" FLASH from my preferred 25 fps 1024x720 H.264 upload format, then I could capture and edit in mpeg-2 and compress/convert selected clips from those Pinnacle projects for uploading...

I've put several requests into the forums about the possibility of a "HQ" conversion/setting and Blake is considering it...surely there are going to be a lot of folks making ntsc 720x480 and pal 720x576 dvd quality 16:9 videos this summer and a vimeo SD rendering will really not do their work justice. However I guess, on the positive side, there is always the download link to the source file if the user has provided it and if they have compressed it efficiently.

Come back Stage6 all is forgiven...Take care bud and I'm glad you liked the video - I always value your comments very highly, cheers.

psst - don't tell anyone will you? I find that converting all my stuff to 30fps works a treat - keep that to yourself though as vimeo may get swamped :D

oh and I miss s6 all the time but I got to make do with the best we have and, well this place ain't too bad once you figure it out - especially seeing as you can download the source file if the video creator allows that option ;-)

keep up the good work, some day you will crack the big time bud :)

"...crack the big time..." maybe in another life!

...or maybe with the help of Johnny Morris :D

Which one of you pair is going to dig up Johhny Morris then.

Fourmoors, I can only echo Be Well's comments about this video, but I will add that your style and techniques have certainly 'matured' during the short period that I have been on Vimeo.

    So, yet another 4Moorhens2 success.

    @Keen :D

@bud - well, when are you going to do it bud ;-)
  • Keen Johns 1 year ago
I would be the first to volunteer, unfortunately my mum gets very annoyed if I get my hands dirty. That means that I would have to dig her up as well to appologise.

If I may butt in here, Keen do you know Jim at Mill Farm in Standon? He is an aquaintance of my cousin Gerald (aka Peck,) they are both very keen fishermen?
  • Keen Johns 1 year ago
I most certainly do know Jim, and Betty, (Aunty Betty as she is affectionately known by the youngsters of the area) we've been here for over 20 years.

There was a Gerald also, lived almost opposite to Jim, I don't suppose???
  • 4Moorhens2 plus 1 year ago
Gerald lives in Drayton but he travels around many farms in the area doing to cows what has to be done (A.I.) He just wondered if you knew Jim. We might come out to Standon one day next week and maybe visit one of your famous ponds and perhaps even meet up with you?

bud, the big time could only be achieved with your able assistance and the magic inspirational spirit of that long departed "zoo keeper".

Part 1: Sounds OK to me Fourmoors, keep in touch on this one. Days out for us are Wednesday, Market Drayton market, and Friday shopping, though this can be rearranged by time shifting.

Part 2: Good grief man, you must be as old as I am. I used to love watching Johnny Morris, I've often wondered but never found out whether he was related to Desmond Morris who used to be a big cheese at London Zoo.
  • 4Moorhens2 plus 1 year ago
Keen, I'll get back to you regarding the Standon visit, with a personal message, once I hear from my cousin Gerald (aka Peck) and whether he is free on Mon, Tues or Thursday next week.

I remember Desmond Morris - don't know if he was related to Jonny, but their personalities were quite different weren't they? This whole Jonny Morris thing stems from Be Well's suggestion that I use a Jonny Morris type narration with a compiled version of my "Born Under a Thorn Bush" coot videos. The edit shouldn't be too difficult but the narration will be extremely tricky! I'll definately need some help with that...
