Alaska, yea ... wow! Anchorage to Whittier by train, then boat to Glacier Bay, Skagway, Juneau, Ketchikan and Vancouver.
Decent results for a fairly inexpensive DSLR.

Antoine Doiron 1 year agoyour camera shoots some pretty amazing video. how did you keep it so still and do those really smooth pans? very nice. video results like these make me want to get a DSLR and use it instead of my canon HV40. -

1 year ago A little bit of FCP 7 SmoothCam on train shots, then a big boat helped me with the pans at the glaciers. SmoothCam is interesting, not always effective but it saved a few shots and kind of added a weird effect here and there. Great trip and a fun test for the T2i. The dslr is not a substitute for the video camera, it's a great supplement though. -
Antoine Doiron 1 year agoby the way, I live 3 miles from the Mendenhall glacier in Juneau so the last part of your film looked very familiar. -
CID MACHADO 1 year agoHi, Yelowdog! Great shots and textures! Nice tunes, too! I´de like to ask you if got any problems using the T2i in such cold environment like moist glass and body, or any other kind of trouble. when people come to compare the T2i with the 5D or 7D they say it´s no wheater proof like the last two. How was your experience? Thanks for sharing your video! -

1 year ago I thought the T2i was solid for the price, with a lens upgrade. We were lucky and it only rained one day, so I didn't really put it to a severe stress test, I wasn't strapping it to a sled dog or treking the rain forests in Brasil. I think the DSLR is another great shooter tool, it's evolving and morfing real fast with new cameras of a video/dslr hybrid design. I don't know for sure, but the 7D and 5D also have some of the same shortcomings when shooting video, you need to accessorize all of these cameras. The T2i is smaller FWIW, cheaper, and more stripped down while still retaining the functionality. I think it's the best video dslr for the money, for a few months at least. -
CID MACHADO 1 year agoI see. And agree completely with you. I own a HV40 and I´m looking for a DSLR for better stills and HD video with interchangeable lenses. I´ve watched the new Matt Brown videoclip with both and it was interesting to see how the footage blended together. Thank you very much for your answer and keep up the good work!
