Inna Dubchak discusses visualization methods that are being used to compare genomes of different organisms. She presents examples of the visual comparison of local features - such as exons and regulatory elements – as well as visualizations of large-scale genomic re-arrangements. She discusses a number of tools that are designed to facilitate these comparisons, particularly the VISTA system developed by her group. This talk was part of VIZBI 2010, the EMBO workshop on visualizing biological data (vizbi.org). This video has been filmed and distributed with permission under a creative common license.
