A recently fledged Fox Sparrow preens itself in an alder tree. Every so often it gives a baby peep, in the hope that the parents will show up and feed it. At one point, a Robin chirped nearby, and it really started peeping. I guess anything's better than having to feed yourself. It must be a pretty steep learning curve for these little guys when they first leave the nest.
