This is amazing! I have never seen anything like this before, a time-lapse that tells a story of a ship. It must have been an amazing journey. Well done!
What is this music track you used?

Inner Laugh [James Holden mix] by Roland Klinkenberg.

It must have been an amazing journey. Great video!

Antartica is a mesterious place for many I'm sure. I find it fascinating and would have loved to been a part of that expedition.

How does one get to go on one of those? Seriously, does anyone know?

One of the best uses of Timelapse that I've seen. Most timelapse is used just for pretty pictures, but you're using the form to tell a narrative (and an amazing one, at that). Really really fantastic! Thanks!

Is that a coffin at 4:33?
  • Igor 1 year ago
I think your right. It does resemble a coffin and there are an awful lot of people just standing around while they move it out of the helicopter.

There was a fire on one of the Russian stations. That guy sadly died and was shipped back.

    Amazing idea for a timelapse!
I liked the bit where the boat had to go back and forth to break that ice!

Amazing. Any details on what equipment you used? Was the stabilization & zoom/pan done in post, or do you have a gyro/electronic zoom mount of some kind?

Curious especially to what kind of equipment could survive the harsh conditions.
  • installtechno 11 months ago
Storyspark, thanks for an appreciation of our work!
All material is finished shooting on Panasonic FZ-20.
The gyroscope wasn't used. Stabilization and scaling are executed on postproduction. The initial size of a shot 2560х1920 allowed to execute this work.

Very well done. A hard working ship. The helicopters are really used to good advantage. Amazing that you were able to capture an entire voyage with time lapse. That is an astonishing amount of work but it really tells the story of how the ship supplies the stations.
