SALA DE MAQUINAS (Engine Room) is an audiovisual interactive installation, which aims to reflect on the idea of the reuse of what we consider obsolete. As much the space as the technology can be transformed and have a new usage, they can generate a new discourse.
In this case the space (the old factory), the technology (the TVs) and people articulate a current proposal that takes form through an audiovisual installation. An electronic oscillator is connected to an open circuit, in a way that when the user touches the two metal bars electricity passes through him, the circuit closes and sound is produced. The human body becomes an electrical resistance therefore the user is able to vary the frequency of the sound.
The old modified TVs receive these audio signals and they interpret them as an oscilloscope producing all kinds of different wave forms and reactions.
