See all Show me
I saw the Improv Everywhere "semi-naked in NYC" stunt and was reminded of this bit of performance art I did 13 years ago. It's a little more punk rock than theirs...

NOT FOR THE EASILY OFFENDED!!!

Not to get all meta art fart here but I was thinking a lot at the time about performance and what it is and the weird relationship between performer and audience and it led me to become fascinated with the bums who begged on subway cars... do they still do that? I live in LA now... but I marveled at how they were performing for a literally captive audience, unless you felt like leaping to your death on the tracks you had to sit there and hear their performance... I guess these days it's an easy out with an ipod... but anyway I wanted to see what it was like to hold a captive subway audience captive to my insane idea of the worst subway bum ever- who finishes his crazy pitch by spewing gobs of clearly infectious blood out of his pee hole. Also I was into the idea of "audience torture" at the time, influenced by the likes of Butthole Surfers and Survival Research Labs.
