My First Ride: Vandana Shiva
Hyuma Frankowski interviews attendees and speakers at Velo-City 2010 in Copenhagen regarding their earliest memories of cycling.
This is part of the “My First Ride” blog which is centered around collecting stories that build common ground between cyclists and non cyclists alike. The intent is to use the blog as a communication tool to ultimately influence decision makers to put cycling at the top of their priorities.
In this clip, Vandana Shiva, Indian philosopher and winner of the 1993 Right Livelihood Prize, gives an account of her early memories on a bike and the background of cycling in India during British colonial rule.
