Most of the corridos I hear nowadays are narcocorridos:
songs about "the business", cop killing and swaggering, grosero outlaw bragadocio.

It's become dangerous to operate outside of cartel control. On the west coast, farmers are pinned between the mafia and the new paramilitary forces. And you can't get a real cup of coffee to save your life.

One of the real motivations behind the "war on drugs" is to push indigenous people off of their communally owned lands, in order to make room for corporate developers.
