Very nicely done. I just got that lens today myself. I Haven't found the right focus point, though. The AF just rapidly racks in complete
soft focus. The zoom-in proves that the lens is for close-up of things from a distance (you probably wouldn't want to hold a camera 1/2 an inch from bees anyway) I haven't taken it outdoors though, does it perform poorly in low light?
Thanks. I got a brief chance to try a little more today. I'm starting to see it's range. I just ordered a Letus 35 mini, so I'll try to get better with the raynox before it arrives.
Is that a mac I see in your setup? I was starting to think no one used them here with all the talk of Vegas.
Is that where you edit? Do you use one of Apples editors? I have FCE 4 and iMovie 6, and I'd like to think I can create good files to post here with them.
Letus 35 mini is my next step.
Tell me when you try that.
I use a i-mac 24" 2.8ghz 4gig Ram with os x leopard and windows xp.
I edit everything with final cut studio pro 2 and I love it , I have avid liquid 7 and premiere cs3 but prefer FC
I got a chance to try a little of this over the weekend. I can appreciate even more what you captured here.
It's not easy to keep these guys posing for long as I wobbled and hunted for them. I was in fact about 5-8 inches from them, so a tripod would be a real limiting factor.
The wind was also against me, as the blossoms they were landing on were swaying way too much. I haven't watched it back yet, but I'm not expecting much.
First try.
I'd love to have a Merlin fall from the sky right now. With the bundle I've already laid down recently I just can't make that one work at the moment. I went with the Letus because you can't get that look without one, but you can use tripods to stabilize.
Once again, excellent work on this one. It's not as easy as it looks (and it doesn't necessarily look easy to begin with).
Oh, yes... I almost forgot. BEAUTIFUL FOOTAGE and excellent camera work! Thanks for sharing!
No color correction.

WORKS FINE IN LOW LIGHT.
