Synth Eastwood travelled to The Model Arts Centre in Sligo for a brand new animation festival called Lightbox. It was co-curated with Darklight & Cinema North West.

In the afternoon we hosted an open discussion called Animators Anonymous with guest speakers D.A.D.D.Y. and Fergal Brennan.

Later in the evening Synth Eastwood performed a live A/V show interacting with the crowd to create visuals onsite for our live set. We also invited David Kitt to play some records & good friend Shocko to play his live electronic set.

The Lightbox Festival also profiled the work of hugely successful Irish animation company Cartoon Saloon, producers of Oscar nominated The Secret of Kells. The work of Jimmy Murikami, a founding father of Irish animation was also featured. A great children's programme included Hayao Miyazaki's "Ponyo" and "Lost and Found" which is based on the Oliver Jeffers book.
