This was a test starlapse. Panasonic GH1 shooting 1920X1080 JPEGs, Canon FD 28mm, F2.8 with .45X wide angle converter, ISO 800, 3sec exposure, 9 second interval.
I shot the night before with the kit lens at F4 iso 400 and I forgot that auto focus was on and ended up with just black frames.
I'm very unhappy with the amount of noise in this movie. Not sure how others are getting deep blacks and sharp stars.
This was shot in my backyard 50 yards from an Interstate freeway so there is a considerable amount of light pollution.
An interesting side note is that I caught an Iridium flare at about 10 seconds into the movie. The bright star at the begining is Arcturis.
