Here are the first three minutes of FATHER TALK (Canada, 2008), a feature film by Gabrielle Tremblay.

Evelyne, a Montreal film student, is directing a documentary investigating father-child relationships. Her project involves recording the confessions of various individuals on camera and aims to tell a story through a myriad of voices, faces and answers. But what was suppose to be only an academic project turns out to be a more personal journey. Despite her will, Evelyne comes face to face with what her father absence created in her.

FATHER TALK was shot over a year. The main narrative was recorded first and the documentary – Evelyne’s project – was done afterwards and mapped unto the narrative. While the main story is fictional, it contains actual documentary interviews which as well as contributing to the overall story, also add another layer to the self reflecting nature of the film.

Voici les premières minutes de DIRE SUR MON PÈRE (Canada, 2008), un long métrage de Gabrielle Tremblay.

Evelyne, une étudiante en cinéma à Montréal, entreprend la réalisation d’un documentaire. En recueillant les témoignages de plusieurs personnes, elle cherche à rendre compte du rapport au père qu’elles entretiennent. À travers les différents visages et les réponses, un récit complexe et nuancé s’organise. Cependant, ce qui ne devait être qu’un projet universitaire devient rapidement un projet très personnel. Malgré elle, Evelyne se retrouve confrontée à tout ce que l’absence de son père aura laissé comme traces en elle.

DIRE SUR MON PÈRE résulte d’un mélange de fiction et de documentaire. Alors que la genèse du projet relève de la construction fictive, les divers témoignages, eux, sont d'authentiques confessions.
