Loosely based on John Donne's 'A Valediction: Forbidding Mourning,' DIE TOMATE is both a symbolic and partisan critique of the triumphs of Britain's Industrial Revolution circa 1892 and its ineluctable descent into the Boer War.

It presupposes the tautological diatribe that criticizes the lackadaisical pretension imposed on society by the provocative but seemingly indelible contention of the Governor General of Canada, Michaƫlle Jean.
