Bit of footling about done over the weekend before last with my new Canon gizmo.
Big props to Philip Bloom and those GreenJelly Film lads who's work here on Vimeo have been both an inspiration and a kick up the jacks for me to take up an account herein and to explore what I can do with the HF10 beyond 'happy clips'. Been a long time stills jockey but go easy - this is my first ever 'short' I guess.
So this is it then.
Shot on a Canon HF 10 post done in FCE and grad with Magic Bullet Looks. Edit: Exported h264 .mov @ 1280x720
Music: Stormy Weather - Duke Ellington.
Happy enough for a first attempt on what was a very wet afternoon.
Things I've learned:
Get a more robust tripod and keep yer damn hands off the thing when shooting. Have patience. Keep warm!
Things to get/save for:
Letus Mini + some Canon Primes and a Zoom
Decent tripod.
But hey it's early days :o)

The ducks didn't do much for me. Maybe you should have framed them differently. Colour grading was nice - the vignette/border thing a little too heavy at times, though...
Keep it up.
Yep was going for moody/dark but maybe I need to ease up a little - less is more and all that. Appreciate the feedback! It's how we learn and grow. Cheers! :o)
Well I'm only just starting out with it myself and used the the Cinema Mode @ 25p for this short (although some of the rain shots were 50p come to think of it)
Thanks for adding the clip to the HF10 pool! :o)
