Skylon
At the age of 27, Philip Powell and Jacko Moya won a competition to build the Skylon for the 1951 Festival of Britain. The Skylon was a 300 foot high metal sculpture that sat in the heart of London on the Southbank. It was demolished in 1952 but people have wanted to rebuild it again on a regular basis. It became an icon for a new era in British history, and is the first example of high-tech architecture in the UK. This film launches a campaign to bring the Skylon back to London.
