"The Zoo is a small crag that offers decent moderate sport lines. Not as popular as nearby Roadside and Torrent Falls, it is a good place to get away from the crowds. If anything make a trip to The Zoo to climb Hippocrite. It's a short and powerful line that ascends a steep face via long moves between huecos. Its newer neighbor, Scar Tissue, also offers steep climbing but on fragile rock."

Your footage is so nice! You should apply to this competition: reelrocktour.com/contest/

Deadline is soon, but my friend works there and says they're accepting 2min. films until July 25th. Films aren't supposed to be on the internet, so you could just take it down for a bit...
  • Colin Delehanty plus 1 year ago
Damn maybe i'll break up one of my videos. Thanks for the heads up.

I have more footage so maybe I could just start pumping out the next video.
  • kmase 1 year ago
Yeah you should totally crank something out!
  • Colin Delehanty plus 1 year ago
I'm not really sure I should submit it if I don't have the rights to the music.

true, but there are a lot of free-use music sites out there. You could probably download something from archive.org or us this site: stonewashed.net/free-music.html

Great footage, great colors, great climbs. Great music. Overall a great video.

The editing is a bit much though, for me. Reverses, speed changes, color switches, jump cuts... it's like final cut is the new photoshop where everyone turns it up to 11.

It's like Fryberger's new video Core -- he doesn't actually have a single uninterrupted send in the video, and parts of it are enough to give you an epileptic fit.

Just one grumpy old man's $.02, no offense intended. I just think sometimes a little less is more.

Great shooting and eye for detail. I really like the feel to this, it's real close to what i'm going for. Are there any custom settings you're shooting with or just plain High Def.?
  • Colin Delehanty plus 1 year ago
Thanks Steven. I'm not shooting with any special settings. Just 1080p 24fps. I wish I could shoot 60fps on the 5D MK2.

So beauty. Depth of field is absolutely killer. You own a Mark II? Downright sexy camera.
    Great shots man.
I noticed some little ticking in the audio...that sometimes happens when the sampling rate is different on export than the mp3. I've found dragging the mp3 into a new sequence and exporting to aiff, then using it in the main project gets rid of it. Don't know why it does that but it seems to fix it.
  • Colin Delehanty plus 1 year ago
Thanks Jack. My brother said that's what caused the ticking too. It's a bummer I didn't catch it while I was editing and now I can't find the save file from when I edited the video.

When you are up in the air how do you keep your camera still? Do you have a harness for your camera? Or just practice practice?
  • Colin Delehanty plus 7 months ago
I'm in a harness but to avoid spinning I created a couple of directionals to the nearest tree.
