105. You have to see the landing on this FPV RC Plane Flight

I went to a new spot last night and ran into a nice family flying their RC planes. They were fascinated by my setup as they had heard of such things but never seen one in person. They all got to view the video downlink from my shaded TV and they helped me spot the plane as well which was good because there were blind spots with the downlink. The landing took me by surprise because the plane sunk to the ground much faster than I intended but still ended up landing well and just past the obstacles I had to get over. It makes for a great video so I ran the landing again in slow motion. A must see!!!

Best Landing? Thanks but I got really lucky. I botched the first one with the whole family watching. I was determined to make this one but when I saw it fall fast just after clearing those things I thought here we go again. I couldn't believe it when it touched down and rolled out so smooth, straight, and fast. I was thrilled!!!
Rob, these foam board planes have been the best thing for the tinkerer ever! They modify so quickly and easily. I never would have had this much fun with balsa and covering. I bought a few and they just don't appeal to me. Once I test a design a few times and get it working I think, OK now what can I change? This stuff allows me to get away with it. Of course if all you own is a hammer, everything looks like a nail. :-)

It will give you much better results with dead spots and because its tuned better it will allow your transmitter to run a lot cooler. I personally toss all the stock ones and replace them all with these.
I don't know much about RF. It's magic as far as I can tell. :-)
So I really appreciate the advise. I went ahead and ordered one right away so I can check it out as I would love to have a more stable video link!!!

Yes, I got a slow start because they tend to break when I flip over. I've noticed an improvement but it's not ground breaking so I'm still looking forward to digital transmission they are working on. And I've ordered a FY21AP so I'll be safer then every flying with that!!! I can't wait!!!

Thanks, it really took me by surprise. Because of the narrow road I was really trying hard to hit the mark. It all happened so fast I was shocked. The camera on the wing is awesome. Now that I see how that looks I'm thinking of going back to a single motor design.
