A video review of Taito's Chase HQ2 for arcades, which you can find at the Game Grid Arcade in West Valley City, UT @ the Valley Fair Mall.
The first Chase HQ came out in 1988 and the 'true' sequel is here with the same concept but better graphics (there were a couple of sequels that had the same premise but they did not carry the Chase HQ name but instead Criminal Termination). The concept - chase down criminals on the run using your unmarked police car and smash into them several times until their car is useless. In this manner it feels like a demolition derby kind of game and it is a lot of fun but as I point out, it isn't without it's flaws.
Just like the original there are only five levels and it would be nice to have a few more levels to make the game a little longer. On the plus side of that you can beat the whole game on $1-$2 worth of tokens (we have it set at 4 to start, 1 to continue) as long as you become accostumed to the difficulty curve (which goes from easy to steep fairly quickly). It also would have been nice had they modified the high score entry screen as it turns out to be a challenge to put your name in which it shouldn't be. If they release a downloadable update to address these issues I would love it but as it stands don't let it's flaws turn you away as it is fun once you get the hang of it.
