it's one that I made for a construction paper i made a bit ago, but i have so many variations of paper cut outs of me I've made for numerous construction paper animations..they are all sitting in a bag next to my desk. hahah

along with paper penis, anal beads, airplanes, explosions, maps of different states, and mountains...all made of paper!

Reyer, Karen is definitely not the type of person to leave comments just to show off. Have you even read any of her comments? What type of person would put that much energy into completely original comments just to show off or get attention?

Since you've been on vimeo since March, I'm sure that you've noticed that vimeo is a little different than other video sharing websites. Vimeo is entirely about the community, and keeping the internet a happy place. Sure, there are some awesome videos on here, but it could be entirely filled with videos from games, and people would still complement each other on how well they played, etc.

There's an unwritten guideline here on vimeo. If you like a video, you hit the little heart. If you really like it, you leave a comment indicating as much. If you don't like the video, you just close the browser window or hit the 'back' button to leave the page. Maybe there is something that could be done to make the video even better, making it great instead of just good. Then you give such constructive criticism as a comment or a message to the person.

Really, there are some videos here on vimeo that I just don't like - not because of who made the video, but because it just is not my type of movie. However, criticizing the creator of the video is entirely inappropriate. For example, I really don't want to watch movies of video games. As a result, I just won't watch them. That doesn't mean that I think you are showing off your playing skills or that I think your videos don't matter. They're there for a different audience than myself.

Hopefully you can understand from this that vimeo is special. We're all about keeping everyone happy. If we wanted to be told how inadequate we are, there is an unending supply of social sites we can go to. Please help keep vimeo a place where everyone can feel comfortable.

Also, I must point out that criticism of a Me Right Now, which is a Vimeo project, is coming from someone who's videos are mostly from video games. I have nothing against that, but it seems silly to be calling Karen's video not important.

I understand completely. This is a positive website, but the shit pisses me off.

Reyer please understand that we don't all have the same motivations for our actions as you do. While you might make your videos and leave obnoxious comments for attention this isn't the way everyone else works. Karen has an amazing talent for video making and being the incredible girl that she is she also has the love of every vimeo member she has ever come in contact with. This isn't because she writes hurtful, unhelpful and irrelevant comments on sweet videos; there is no place for that here. If you want to spout off about how angry you are at the world for whatever reason then please tell a psychiatrist about it or write about it on your blog where people can choose to read it but don't target your upset at good people; especially people you don't even know and who just so happen to be 1,000,000 times more amazing than you could ever be*. (*personal opinion).

I love Karen, I'd take a bullet for her; she is one of the kindest, most thoughtful and most talented people I know and it is an honour to call her my friend.

She comments on people's videos because she (a) knows how much it means to the person who created the video to have that kind feedback and (b) she actually has something useful to say which is worth the author's time to read.

I hope you understand now how inappropriate your comment was; that is not the way to behave in this day and age. Try to better yourself rather than tarnish others.

Reyer, I'm not trying to start any drama or trouble with you, I really respect you having your own opinions about me or my work, I just felt that it was rather unfortunate that you had to comment on this video out of all the videos on my account, especially one that was specifically directed to one person, jacob. I agree, everything I mention in this video is completely irrelevant to anyone but Jacob, I hope that I don't dissuade you from whatever intentions you have on Vimeo. My prime intention is to connect with people because I sincerely care about them, and this happens to be through a healthy discourse in the medium of video. I don't create videos to impress or cater to an audience, or to even get attention. If I wanted attention I'd go to Youtube, my videos get more play there than they do here. But I am more concerned about actually connecting and understanding people, caring for them, helping them, and they help me too. Whether or not I am friends with them is completely irrelevant because I would treat a stranger just as nice as I would treat a friend.

This site is more of a community to me than a place where I can upload videos that I think people will like. I don't care if people like my videos or not.

I think Ben Millett's response probably puts the type of tone on vimeo best.

Also the one thing to keep in mind is that negative comments don't go unnoticed in the community...so if you have other things you would like to say to me, kindly just send me a private message and we shall continue this discourse there. Take care.

haha it's alright boys. This happens more often than I'd like it to, but I'm a big girl and it doesn't really get to me anymore. I get bad things said at me almost on a daily basis in the form of emails but it doesn't bother me too much, it's all quite humorous and ridiculous most of the time.

Unfortunately I don't think I can ever make another video of myself after this one, I was reluctant to put this one up, and then have gotten some negative feedback because of it which has dissuaded me from ever wanting to post another video of myself haha. But maybe I'll make some puppets or something or have someone else do it. hahah . :-)
