2. Southern Sportsman
This was a video we shot for our friends at Southern Proper for their Fall 08 collection - "Southern Sportsman". Everything was filmed with my HV20 and Brevis Adapter, IndiSlider, Canon Lenses, and a Front End Loader (the crane shot...) Shot at my wife's parent's farm - couldn't have asked for a more perfect location. Original score by Chris Talley.

This is awesome! The shots, the composition, the music. That Brevis is mighty slick. :-)

    Superb shots and CG.
Well I think I'm not properly when I go fishing. I will change it next time. No more BDU's, baseball caps. Here goes the TIE era.

Very nice. This is some of the Best HV20 video I've seen yet. I am considering an IndiSlider for myself as well. I have added this video to the Cinevate Brevis group on Vimeo. :-)

    Thanks Jesus,

The song was composed for this piece by a friend of ours - the horizontal movement was achieved with the IndiSlider by IndiSystems - indifocus.com/

this looks great- the stills photography as much as the cinematography- like a professional commercial for a clothing line almost...

    THE QUALITY!!!
    Breath-taking!
I cannot get such sharp footage w.o my adapter!
Does the HDMI make the difference?

Outstanding footage. I don't comment videos here on vimeo normally. But that was breathtaking. The whole style of the video - wonderful and absolutely clean footage.

The HDMI does make a pretty big difference - I'm not a huge fan of HDV compression. Bypassing that preserves the sharpness and color information to work with later in post. There are some still's mixed into the footage (you can probably tell which ones...) which were taken at the same time for a print piece.

This is beautiful. About a year ago i bought a HV20 unaware of what hdv compression did. Then when i shot my first short, i noticed the pixels were stretched and i was actually getting 1440 x 1080 and not full hd with the better color ratio. I am just desperate to know how you preformed this magic haha. Honestly, its amazing, i just wanted to know from someone who has done it, what hardware you used (express card, computer, power source, and what brevis adapter) if its not too much trouble this would make my day...it would make my year! haha

Nice shots BUT way too long... 3 minutes is too much for advertisement. 60 to 90 seconds would do much better. People get bored quickly.

Did you use the Canon EF lenses with the fstop wide open or do you have a way to stop down?

Awesome work...excellent AE work too with moving the layers of the still images. Very sweet. Where is this going to air in the fall of 2008?
