I saw the movie in IMAX on opening day. I was able to fully experience the immersive sound along with the visual, and being so close to the screen gave me even better audio :)

It was phenomenal. Both visual and audio combined in a huge theater.

Hats off to the sound design team and everyone who worked on this amazing film. Put simply: I loved it.

Yes, Imax the second time for me today.
It really is quite good, and I liked it better the 2nd time -
And it was the sound that really stuck with me this time!

Fantastic! Thanks for posting. Look forward to the bonus features.

I was lucky enough to be a part of the production for the snow fortress sequences. I spoke to the lead sound tec, that being the last shoot location of an ambitious shooting schedule.

He had been all across the globe for this production. He was incredibly tired. :)

The sound is without a shadow of doubt the glue for all immense parts of the movie. On of the best movies I ever seen so far, simple and at the same time very complex.

  • Loved this BTS. Saw the film last week and loved it. Partway through I was already guessing the music was Zimmer. Just so bold and brash. Sound design was the same way. You guys did an incredible job. Thanks for sharing some of your world with the rest of us!

Great short - really loved it. Want to see the film now. Can you satisfy my curiosity? Did you shoot the interviews on a Canon 5D - major moire on Richard King's shirt - but lovely natural lighting and atmosphere.
  • Michael Coleman plus 1 year ago
Hey Jeff! We shot these interviews on a 5D and 7D...
  •
  • jeffmurray plus 1 year ago
Thanks for the reply. The interviews look great, especially the natural lighting effect. I also enjoyed seeing the effort that goes into the sound track. Thanks for sharing.

The sound editors are mainly using Pro Tools for most of their editorial work, which is somewhat standard in the industry.

The sound is massive in this film, no doubt about it.

When I saw the film it was very satisfied, but somehow I can't help to admit that even the dreams in this movie are too close to reality, true dreams are quite different, from start to end they are upside down, and even the characters including yourself change sporadically.

I know Inception has a lot to offer in creativity, but is still an action film, that's why it works so well. Even the music and sound FX could be more experimental, but hey! again this is an action film, with great production values.
