Video documentation of the significant redesign and refurbishing of Temple Israel, Boston's original 1927 building. Renovations include the conversion of the Levi Auditorium from a sloped-floor hall with permanent seating to a flat-floored, multipurpose space with movable seats, as well as the auditorium's balcony into modern conference and meeting rooms; the installation of a metal-and-glass access ramp on the Riverway; and the restoration to pristine condition of original Judaica elements
throughout the Riverway entrance, lobby and staircases.
With commentary by architect Marc A. Maxwell, a temple trustee, chairman of the Building and Grounds Committee, and associate of the TI Tomorrow Capital Campaign, which funded the renovation. Introduction by Rabbis Ronne Friedman and Elaine Zecher.
