Me as a wee little one!

After being inspired by Eat A Bug, I went through hours of footage and found some clips of myself from my childhood that I liked. These movies were transfered from 8mm to VHS over 15 years ago, then recently from that old VHS tape to DVD. I think my Dad may still have the original 8mm tapes and the old family projector.

I ripped the DVD with my favorite new MacOS app "handbrake".

God this is cute. What did you use to convert from VHS to DVD? I've been looking to buy one of them ther' fancy machines that do it, but keep putting it off.

We have all the equipment here at work and I got a co-worker to do it for me. I am pretty sure he used Adobe Premiere. After making the transfer I made DVD's for all the family and gave them a Xmas presents.

This made me really happy. I love watching old family movies, even if they aren't mine! I liked the end, at first I thought it was some strange part of the song.

You sucked so bad at walking. I'm amazed they let you keep trying. Really, I loved this clip. Good job Thommy.

hahaha you and your brother in the snow at 5:00 reminds me of "A Christmas Story" soooo cute.

the three of you in front of the Christmas tree and your dad trying to grab all of you reminds me of my house - the three of us going nuts and out of control. hahahaha

I wish my parents had taken videos of my siblings and I. What a great thing to have around. Good conversion/editing as well.

    You did it man.

I love the 2nd song, is that Pinback?

Are those Star Wars figures on the ground?

You walking around in the red jogging suit strangely matched the beat...

As a kid, you really do look like the guy from LOTR.

From what age do your memories start?

I think mine start around 3 years old.
  • Thommy Browne 1 year ago
    1. Yes, that is Pinback. The song is called "Loro".
    2. Yes, those are Star Wars toys. My old brother had a shit ton of them.
    3. My first memory that I can remember was from around 2 or 3 years old. I remember it because it was when I got my first bloody nose and I ruined my favorite shirt.

Do you still have any Star Wars figures left?
  • Thommy Browne 1 year ago
Nope! I think we sold them all in old family garage sales.

    this is so precious.
i resent to this day that my parents hardly video taped my siblings and i as wee ones. my grandparents have tapes, but we can't convince gramma to let go of them so that we can transfer them to dvd!
i can't wait to have babies and put cameras all up on them.

I love the so-called american family... always portraying the good, the honest and most caring based on the media now-a-days. I didn't have that priviledge since I wasn't born here, but if I was born under this scenario I guess my life would be with a meaning and a purpose. Badly, I unable to procreate... but that's life.

You might be the last generation, or at least one of them, with actual film footage of their childhood's...that's really something.
