Renowned marine life artist Wyland continues his work through July 21 on "Hand Across the Oceans," a massive environmental art project in Beijing. Created with the help of thousands of children from 110 countries, the 3,200 meter series of murals when completed will represent threatened marine wildlife from 205 Olympic countries.
"Hands Across the Ocean" is a featured event of the 2008 Beijing Olympic Cultural Festival. The project will conclude the U.S.-based artist's 27-year goal of creating 100 monumental marine life murals, known as "Whaling Walls," in more than 14 countries throughout the world.
